Ahmed Hamza

Welcome to my website! I’m a PhD candidate in Political Science at University of North Texas. My research focuses on ethnic politics, democratization, and political behavior, with a regional emphasis on the Middle East. I am currently completing a dissertation that introduces a new measure of party ethnicization and examines the causes and consequences of party ethnicization on democracy and governance.

In addition to my academic work, I have experience as consultant for peacebuilding initiatives and a journalist covering Iranian political affairs, and have written extensively on Kurdish politics and regional security. I also bring a strong background in data analysis, survey research, and archival methods. My native language is Kurdish. I am fluent in Persian and passionate about bridging rigorous research with real-world policy impact.
